Job Description

Our client, a financial services company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Compliance Advisor (AML/CFT) to join their Risk & Compliance team. The selected candidate will provide advisory services in the AML/CFT, GDPR, and regulatory compliance field, with a focus on contributing to the company’s financial crime compliance efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of AML/CFT policies and procedures, and conduct process audits, gap analysis, and simulated on-site inspections.

• Provide technical and operational assistance to MLROs and Compliance Officers.

• Conduct AML/CFT risk assessments and participate in off-site remediation projects.

• Assist in the management and coordination of regulatory examinations.

• Design and deliver AML/CFT training programs to staff.

• Conduct internal and external reviews of the adequacy of policies and procedures and their implementation, and develop remediation plans.

• Keep up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and international standards related to AML/CFT.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an AML/CFT role.

• A university degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in a related field.

• Excellent knowledge of the laws governing the prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism in Malta, the FIAU Implementing Procedures, the relevant EU legislation, and the international standards.

• Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access, and a willingness to learn company-specific software.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Highly ethical with a commitment to professional standards.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize and deliver quality work within tight time frames.

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
