IT Helpdesk Support Officer

Job Description

Job Summary:

The main objectives of this position focus around assisting in the administration and support of software and hardware setup, projects and procedures .


Main Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Perform the installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of the firm’s hardware and software handling ad-hoc requests via phone, e-mail, or face-to-face.
  • Identify sources and trends of technical problems to prevent future occurrences. Perform IT Infrastructural administrative tasks and basic troubleshooting.
  • Work with the global organization to diagnose and troubleshoot WAN connectivity and assist with maintenance and upgrades.
  • Deliver IT end-user training.
  • Work on projects, assessing the special needs of the local office and responding appropriately.
  • Assist with provisioning and de-provisioning processing, including setting up of hardware/software for new hires, and receiving hardware from separating employees.
  • Perform asset management activities (procurement, receipt, inventory, tracking, distribution, etc.) in accordance with firm policy and IT Service processes.
  • Work with software vendors and global groups to ensure updates, patches and new products are tested and distributed appropriately to the field.

  • Possess sound judgement, tact and decision-making ability;
  • Good management, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
  • Proficiency in the use of standardized hardware and software applications.


Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates will ideally have a qualification in IT or Information Systems or possess equivalent industry qualifications.   The candidate should also be eager to learn and develop him/her self.
